There is no enrollment fee.

I live outside of Japan. Is it possible to enroll from abroad?
A

Since the lessons are conducted online, enrollment from overseas is also available.

Can I join in the middle of the month?
A

Sure, you can! Please feel free to consult us about the timing of your enrollment.

About Lesson Schedule

Q
How can I customize my lesson schedule?
A

Please submit your preferred lesson schedule for the following month by the 20th of the current month. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences and provide a proposed schedule. After the schedule is confirmed, please complete the payment by the end of the month.

Can I change a confirmed lesson schedule?
A

As a general rule, we do not accept changes to the lesson schedule after payment has been completed. However, in cases of unavoidable circumstances, if you contact us in advance, we will do our best to arrange a make-up lesson depending on availability. Please note that rescheduling may not be possible if there are no available time slots.

Additionally, please understand that we are unable to offer refunds for lesson fees once payment has been made.

About Payments

What payment options are available for lesson fees?

For residents of Japan, please transfer the lesson fee to the designated Japanese bank account (MUFG Bank).

For residents of Malaysia, please transfer the lesson fee to the designated Malaysian bank account.

When is the payment due?
A

Please make your payment for the lesson fees by the end of the previous month. Payment is required in advance.

About Lessons

Can you explain how the lesson starts?
A

You will receive a Zoom link for your lesson in advance. Please log in to Zoom five minutes before your lesson begins and make sure you are ready to start.

What do I need for online lessons?

※Some computers have built-in webcams, microphones, and speakers, so please check the specifications of your device.
※You can also take lessons using a smartphone, but the lesson content may be limited. We recommend using a computer for lessons.

Is a webcam required?
A

We kindly ask you to prepare a webcam or a device with a built-in camera. This allows both the student and instructor to see each other’s facial expressions and monitor the progress of the lesson. Please check if your computer has a built-in camera before the lesson.

Is there any homework?
A

Homework may be assigned depending on the student’s progress.

Can I change the course of lessons?
A

Yes, you can. Please feel free to consult with us.

Are the lessons group lessons?
A

The lesson is conducted in a small group format, and the fee is based on group lesson pricing.
However, depending on the day and number of participants, the lesson may be held one-on-one. Even in that case, there will be no extra charge — you will still be charged the group lesson rate.

About Rescheduling Lessons

Can I reschedule a lesson?
A

We will do our best to accommodate lesson rescheduling.
However, please note the following:
(1)You must notify us of any absences or requests to reschedule before the lesson starts.
(2)If there are no available time slots, it may not be possible to arrange a make-up lesson. In such cases, please understand that tuition fees are non-refundable.

Also, if we need to cancel a lesson due to circumstances on our end, we will provide a make-up lesson.

I forgot to inform you to reschedule a lesson.
A

If you do not notify us of a reschedule before the lesson starts, a make-up lesson cannot be provided. Also, please understand that the tuition fee for that lesson is non-refundable.

About Tardiness

Q
I was late for the lesson.
A

If we do not receive any prior notice from you, your instructor will wait for up to 15 minutes after the scheduled lesson start time. However, the lesson time will not be extended to make up for your late arrival (e.g. If you are 15 minutes late for a 60-minute lesson, your lesson will last 45 minutes.) Please also note that no refund will be provided for the missed lesson time.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time without prior notice, your lesson will be considered a no-show. In this case, no refund or rescheduling will be offered.

About Pausing Lessons

Please notify us of your intention to take a leave for the desired month by the 20th of the previous month.

About Withdrawal

I would like to withdraw from Japanese Class Akimoriya.
A

Please notify our school of your intention to withdraw by the 20th of the month prior to your desired withdrawal month.
